Socialite heiress Paris Hilton tells her fans that she and pop singer Britney Spears are not lovers.
The two have been partying regularly together and have stirred speculations, reports newsweek.com.
The rumours grew when Spears ex-husband Jason Alexander, who was married to her for just 55 hours, once said: "She found other girls attractive, yes, but we never did anything about it."
In one recent photograph Hilton looked like she was stroking Spears' upper thigh. Another report said Hilton was kissing another woman and suggested that she and Spears are more than just good friends.
But Hilton's representative rebuffs these reports and said: "That is just silly. They are friends and you will continue to see them together. Paris thinks the world of her."

Paris Hilton Says Britney Needs To Be Cut Some Slack
It would probably be in Paris Hilton's best interest if she simply didn't talk anymore since most of the time she doesn't even know what she's saying. And that sweet, innocent voice doesn't fool us either.
Overrated Paris recently defended her BFF Britney Spears recent behavior, saying she's nothing but a good mother to her kids.
The hotel heiress has taken BritBrit out partying several times since she filed for divorce from K-Fed, but insists the pop princess' wild behavior doesn't make her a bad mother.
The 25-year-old wrote on her MySpace page, "Britney loves her kids to death, and I know for a fact that it truly hurts her when she sees these cruel things being written about her. She goes home every night to her babies and partying has not come in the way of her parenting."
The former "Simple Life" star insists the people who have criticized BritBrit for going out and having a good time should be ashamed, and has appealed to them to be kind to the 25-year-old star.
Paris said, "For people to call out her parenting skills on behalf of her partying ethics is appalling. Anyone who has called her out on this should really be ashamed. She's young, and if she wants to go out and have some fun, let her. Just because she does these things does not mean she doesn't care about her children."
She added, "There are thousands of mothers out there who like to go out and have a good time. But, you do not see people out there calling them 'bad parents.' For the sake of Britney and her kids, be kind."

Britney Spears Reportedly Taking Anti-Depressants
First, LinLo and BritBrit go out pantyless, and then they turn to pills to cope. What's next - trading new boyfriends?
Britney Spears has reportedly turned to medication to help her get through her recent split from K-Fed.
The 25-year-old singer, who filed for divorce last month, has been seen carrying several types of anti-depressants in her handbag.
On November 27, BritBrit dined at Dan Tana's restaurant in West Hollywood - where she was also spotted carrying a glass of red wine out to her car before getting behind the wheel - and during a visit to the bathroom a fellow diner caught a glimpse inside her handbag.
The source told In Touch Weekly magazine,"It looked like a pharmacy in there - I have never seen so many pills. There was a bottle of Paxil, an antidepressant, and a bottle of Xanax, which treats anxiety, that she took out and put on the counter."
The directions for both these drugs state they should not be mixed with alcohol.
BritBrit - mother to 15-year-old Sean Preston and three-month-old Jayden James - has now promised to curb her hard partying and apologized to her fans.
In a statement on her official website, she said, "I probably did take my new found freedom a little too far. Anyway, thank God for Victoria's Secrets new underwear line!"
She added, "It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends. Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected. I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me. I'm just getting started!"

Jessica Simpson gets told off by mum for “embarrassing” performance

Jessica SimpsonJessica Simpson reportedly got a good telling off by her mum after she flubbed her performance of “9 to 5″ in front of Dolly Parton and George W Bush at the Kennedy Center Honors event last weekend.
According to TMZ, Tina Simpson was furious as Jessica messed up on stage, forgetting the lyrics to the song and struggling to hold up her strapless dress.
A source overhead Tina calling Jessica’s performance “embarrassing” and “unprofessional”, and criticised her daughter for missing a dress rehearsal and clearly not learning the lyrics to the song. Tina also reportedly told her that Jessica should get out of the business if she didn’t want to put in the work needed to be successful.
Dad Joe Simpson however wasn’t so peturbed, calling the performance “cute”.
Jessica later refilmed the song without anyone in the audience. Her spokesperson blamed nerves and distracting problems with the dress for the slip-ups.

Google has started testing a radio advertising service that will help sell advertising on more than 700 radio stations in more than 200 U.S. metropolitan markets. Google is betting its technology can do for radio what it has already done for the Internet by automating the process for selling and distributing ads to an audience where the messages are most likely to pique consumer interest. As it does on the Web, Google plans to charge a commission for helping radio stations sell ads.
According to Plan
The Mountain View, Calif.-based company signaled its intention to expand into radio advertising in January with a US$102 million acquisition of dMarc Broadcasting. Since then, Google has been working to make the service compatible with a system that already serves millions of Internet advertisers.
The Internet ad platform has turned into a gold mine, with Google's profit this year expected to approach $3 billion -- nearly a 30-fold increase since 2002. The company makes virtually all its money from short, written ads posted on the Web, raising worries among some analysts about Google's lack of other moneymaking channels.
As part of its expansion efforts, Google also is trying to help newspaper and magazine publishers fill some of their unsold advertising space. Google's early efforts in magazines have had little impact. The company just started working with 50 of the nation's largest newspapers.
Google appears intent on pouring far more resources into the radio service, however, with management openly discussing plans to employ about 1,000 workers in the division.

Yoko Ono not ready to forgive Lennon's killer
Yoko Ono has called for the anniversary of John Lennon's death to become a worldwide day of forgiveness but said she could not yet absolve her husband's killer.
"Every year, let's make December 8 the day to ask for forgiveness from those who suffered the insufferable," she said in full-page newspaper advertisements.
"To the people who have also lost loved ones without cause: forgive us for having been unable to stop the tragedy."
She thanked all those who wrote to her at this time every year to say they were thinking of her and her husband.
She said Lennon was "shot and killed at the prime of his life, at age 40, when he had so much life ahead of him."
"As the widow of one who was killed by an act of violence, I don't know if I am ready yet to forgive the one who pulled the trigger.
"I am sure all victims of violent crimes feel as I do. But healing is what is urgently needed now in the world."
Mark Chapman, the obsessed Beatles fan who gunned down Lennon in 1980 outside his New York apartment, remains in jail and was denied parole for a fourth time earlier this year.

Bette Calls Britney a 'Wild and Woolly' Slut
But for veteran actress and singer Bette Midler, Britney Spears' no-panty antics are too much to take. On the Dec. 8 edition of the entertainment news show "Extra," the 61-year-old performer — who has a 20-year-old daughter — chastises Spears and fellow flasher Lindsey Lohan for their disregard of public decency, calling them "wild and woolly sluts." Talking about how the stars have repeatedly flashed the paparazzi, the Divine Miss M jokes, "I'm wearing all the underwear that those girls are not wearing — at least two bras and several pairs of panties." "Get a life, get a grip," she continues. "I mean, someone should sit those ladies down." Midler might like to know that Spears is on the road to recovery. After flashing her private parts three times in one week, generating scores of grotesquely detailed Internet images and a flurry of questions about her behavior, Spears announced yesterday that she would put on some panties. The Web site of the onetime pop princess and recently separated mother of two greets fans with a sheepish apology: "Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my newfound freedom a little too far. Anyway, thank God for Victoria Secret's new underwear line!" Even if Spears covers up her bottom from now on, the pictures of her private parts and the ramifications of a flash-happy celebrity remain in the public consciousness. For better or for worse, "The Britney Effect" is rippling through society. People across the country are talking about Spears' crotch shots. Not surprisingly, much of what they have to stay isn't flattering. Jonathan Tyson, 24, who was browsing in the Virgin Megastore in New York's Times Square, says that when he saw the photos of Spears online, he thought, "There she goes again. … Another publicity stunt." Unlikely as it seems, three other men in their 20s say they hadn't seen the uncensored Spears' photos and didn't want to. "I saw the censored version, and that was plenty," says Brian Pursley, a 24-year-old from Ohio. "I have no desire to see K-Fed's used goods." Most believe Spears began to fall when she hooked up with backup dancer Kevin Federline. What was once seen as rebellion is now seen as "trashy, slutty and sickening" by many people. "I think she's lost her mind," says Amy McSherry, 32, from Florida. "Something snapped." McSherry, the mother of a preteen daughter, worries about the effect of Spears' and other young celebrities' behavior. "Girls have followed [Spears] from when they were little, like we did with Madonna in the '80s," she says. "They want to dress like them, be like them." As if parents didn't have enough to worry about with midriff-baring tops and G-strings peeking out from pants, what if girls suddenly thought not wearing underwear was cool? Psychoanalyst Bethany Marshall thinks it's a trend that could happen. "They may say, 'I can rebel against society. I don't have to wear underwear, I can do whatever I want to do,'" she says. Dan Giddings, a 24-year-old from Ohio who says he hadn't bothered to look at the photos of Spears' privates, admits that guys around his age expect women to look "sexier and sexier." "It's not necessarily a good thing," he says. Amee Shah, a corporate finance analyst in Washington, D.C., says Spears' crotch shots haven't changed her opinion of the pop star all that much. "I didn't really like her to start with, and I don't know where she's headed. She started out being a MILF [Mother I'd Like to F—-] and now she's this — it's like, how low can you go?" Shah says. Though her respect for Spears remains low, Shah says the star's behavior has affirmed her own code of conduct. "She doesn't have an influence on me. I don't look up to her. But I am going to make sure that my legs are crossed next time I'm wearing a skirt," she says. Susannah Grossman, who works in marketing for a Philadelphia graphic-design firm, thinks Spears' stunt is to be expected, considering that she's been coddled by managers and image consultants from the start of her career. "For people to maintain their celebrity without enhancing their skills, they have to rely on this shocking behavior. For someone like Britney Spears, who didn't have an amazing voice to begin with, this is just her latest thing," she says. Grossman sees Spears' display as a last-ditch attempt to stay a star. "There's a certain type of person who will do anything when they realize there's a limited amount of time they have left," she says. "This gives another meaning to the term 'overexposed.'" According to Marshall, Spears has shattered a crucial tenet of common decency. "She's broken one of the deepest taboos. We call it private parts for a reason. It's supposed to be private," she says. Marshall thinks Spears' disregard for common decency is her way of insulting the public. "In a way, it's a bit of a, 'Screw you.' It's just like flipping someone off. The public may feel like they're being flipped off by Britney," Marshall says. But Bob Thompson, professor of pop culture at Syracuse University, believes people are getting what they want. "I think we kind of expect it from her," Thompson says. "We buy gossip and celebrity magazines to see people behaving in ways that are unexpected. I don't think people would be entertained if they logged on to the Internet and instead of seeing Britney without her undies, saw that Britney was starting a crocheting class." Thompson says Spears is fulfilling her role in America's favorite spectator sport: the ever-evolving drama of celebrity life. "This is what Britney does. She helps run the whole engine of the celebrity soap opera," he says. According to celebrity publicist Michael Levine, who has represented Hollywood bigwigs, including Demi Moore and Barbara Streisand, the character Spears plays in that soap opera is turning into a caricature of the girl the public once loved. "She's becoming very pockmarked. There's a cultural sense that she's drifting quickly into the territory of a white-trash cartoon character," Levine says. "She's not there yet. But as Bob Dylan said, 'It's not dark yet. But it's getting there.'" No Desire to See 'K-Fed's Used Goods'
